Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 medium cantaloupe
- 1 1/2 oz. tequila
- 1/2 oz. triple sec
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring sugar, water, and lime juice to a boil over high heat.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens.
- Transfer the mixture to a heat-proof bowl or jar and allow it to cool completely.
- Chop the cantaloupe into large chunks and blend until smooth, yielding about 3/4 cup of cantaloupe puree.
- Mix sea salt and cayenne pepper on a small plate, then brush a little simple syrup on the rim of the glass and coat the rim in the mixture.
- In a shaker filled with ice, add 3/4 cup cantaloupe puree, 1/2 oz. lime simple syrup, 1 1/2 oz. tequila, and 1/2 oz. triple sec. Shake well.
- Pour the mixture into an ice-filled glass and enjoy!
