Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup hulled, chopped strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large basil leaf
  • 1/4 cup gin
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Club soda
  • Whole strawberries, for garnish
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat chopped strawberries, water, sugar, and basil leaf over high heat until it boils.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the syrup for about 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the flavors infuse, then crush the strawberries with a potato masher.
