Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus more for garnish (optional))
  • 1/4 cup spiced rum
  • 1 cinnamon stick (for garnish (optional))
  • 1 gingersnap cookie (for garnish (optional))
  • 2 tablespoon whipped cream (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat and stir occasionally until the mixture begins to simmer, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve and discard the solids. Optionally, refrigerate the pumpkin maple syrup for up to 2 hours for a more chilled cocktail.
  3. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the prepared spiced pumpkin maple syrup and spiced rum. Shake well.
  4. Pour the pumpkin pie cocktail into a glass. Garnish with whipped cream, a dusting of pumpkin pie spice, a cinnamon stick, and crumbled gingersnap cookie.
  5. Serve as desired.
