Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 oz hibiscus simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 5 oz sparkling water (club soda)
  • Fresh lime, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine the sugar, water, and dried hibiscus flowers. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the syrup is steaming.
  2. Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for 10 minutes. Then, strain out the hibiscus flowers.
  3. Store the syrup in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  4. To make the Hibiscus Breeze, add vodka and 1 ounce of the hibiscus simple syrup to a tall glass.
  5. Stir together and add ice.
  6. Top with sparkling water and serve with a wedge of fresh lime.
  7. For a mocktail, add 1 1/2 ounces of the simple syrup to sparkling water and serve ice cold.
