Ingredients
- 3 oz coffee
- 2 oz Kahlua
- 1/2 oz Triple Sec (or other orange liqueur)
- 1/2 oz aged rum (or white or dark)
- Granulated sugar, for rimming the glass
- Lemon wedge
- 1 large spoonful sweetened whipped cream, whipped to soft peaks
- For the garnish: grated chocolate or fresh grated or ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Prepare the coffee and let it cool slightly.
- Whip the cream until it forms soft peaks.
- Use a lemon wedge to moisten a 1/2-inch of the glass rim and coat the outer edge with sugar to create a 1/2-inch band.
- Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on the glass until it turns brown.
- Add the coffee, Kahlua, triple sec, and rum to the glass, and stir gently.
- Carefully float the whipped cream on top using the back of a spoon.
- Garnish with grated chocolate or nutmeg.
