Ingredients

  • 1 oz prepared espresso coffee
  • 1 oz rum
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon and cardamom syrup (see instructions)
  • Whipped cream and ground cinnamon, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a small glass, combine the espresso coffee, rum, and cinnamon and cardamom syrup. Stir well.
  2. Top the cocktail with a dollop of lightly whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
  3. For the cinnamon and cardamom syrup: In a pot, combine 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cardamom pods, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat until simmering, then remove from heat and let it infuse until cool, or up to 12 hours. Strain to remove the cinnamon and cardamom and store the syrup for up to 2 weeks.
