Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
- 3 earl grey tea bags (or 3 tsp loose tea)
- 1 oz Whiskey (Jamesons)
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz earl grey vanilla simple syrup
- 1/2 oz egg white
- 1 twist lemon peel
- 1 handful ice cubes
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, and scraped vanilla bean to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove from heat, add the teabags, and let it steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove the teabags and leave the vanilla pod in to infuse.
- Allow the syrup to cool, then store it in the fridge.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, lemon juice, earl grey vanilla simple syrup, and egg white.
- Shake the mixture for 20 seconds.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake for an additional 10 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into a cocktail tumbler.
- Add ice and a twist of lemon peel if desired.
