Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
  • 3 earl grey tea bags (or 3 tsp loose tea)
  • 1 oz Whiskey (Jamesons)
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz earl grey vanilla simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white
  • 1 twist lemon peel
  • 1 handful ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, and scraped vanilla bean to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat, add the teabags, and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the teabags and leave the vanilla pod in to infuse.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool, then store it in the fridge.
  5. In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, lemon juice, earl grey vanilla simple syrup, and egg white.
  6. Shake the mixture for 20 seconds.
  7. Add ice to the shaker and shake for an additional 10 seconds.
  8. Strain the mixture into a cocktail tumbler.
  9. Add ice and a twist of lemon peel if desired.
