Ingredients
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon packed light brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey or dark rum
Instructions
- In a saucepan, caramelize 1 tablespoon of sugar with water until light brown.
- Add heavy cream and whole milk, then heat and stir.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolk, brown sugar, and vanilla until thick.
- Slowly add the caramelized milk mixture to the egg yolk mixture.
- Stir in bourbon or rum.
- In another bowl, beat the egg white with 1/2 tablespoon of sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the fluffy egg whites into the eggnog mixture.
