Ingredients

  • 1 lime (quartered)
  • 5 basil leaves, torn
  • 5 mint leaves, torn
  • 1.50 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup white rum
  • Extra basil and mint sprigs for garnish
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup club soda

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the juice of lime quarters into a shaker and toss them in.
  2. Add torn basil leaves, torn mint leaves, and sugar, then muddle them together to extract the lime juice and release the herb oils.
  3. Pour in the white rum, cover, and shake well.
  4. Place some basil and mint sprigs into a glass and pack it with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the rum mixture into the glass.
  6. Top with club soda and stir gently.
  7. Garnish with more basil and mint to serve.
